BACKGROUND:
Even more comprehensible history for SB

Kon comes from a world called Earth, it's almost exactly identical to the Earth that we come from with a few differences, some of which are obvious and some that aren't. There are actually multiple worlds within universes for example Superboy Prime comes from Earth Prime in which reality exists in a different state. There are many inhabited planets within the universe that Kon comes from and space travel isn't exactly something that's impossible. With life inhabiting other planets this can also mean threats to other planets, not just Earth. In this universe there are intergalactic factions, such as the Green Lantern Corps set up to protect all life, think of them as space police.

One of the more noticeable and closer to home, differences would be the vast amount of cities that are different. Gotham City is an example of this, a city rife with crime but under the watchful eye of the Dark Knight, Batman. Metropolis is another city that exists in Kon's universe and happens to be one of the most well-known within America, it's also the home of Superman and this is said to lead to its popularity. Smallville, this eventually becomes the place where Kon comes to live and grow up with some normalcy. Smallville is your typical small southern farm town, the further out you go the dustier the roads get, with not much happening in the town centre.

The other difference, and this is a biggy, would be the amount of heroes and villains that run around or even fly. Most of the time in some brightly coloured costume as if to make a statement. 'Look at me, I'm super!' not quite but it is pretty close.

Superman happens to be one of these superheroes with the colourful outfit and everything, the alien from a different world that fights for truth justice and the American way, protector of Metropolis. After Superman was killed, a clone had been made in his absence, artificially created from Kryptonian and human DNA to be as close to an exact copy as was possible, the human DNA was essential as clones before were unable to remain stable. Superboy was born, though instead of emerging at the age of Superman, he came out too early and was only aged to a teenager. Superboy was unaware of who the human DNA was from as it was kept a secret and he wasn't given the chance to find out straight away. We do find that it comes from a man called Lex Luthor.

Lex Luthor is an important character in Superboy's life, even before he knows it himself. The man is heralded as a genius and owns his own company LexCorp. He is sworn enemies with Superman and spends time and money coming up with ways to get rid of the Man of Steel. It's revealed that he is the human DNA donor, and not who Kon originally thought it was, although from his canon point he isn’t aware of this yet. There is also a trigger phrase implanted in him that when triggered will cause Kon to lose control of himself.

The JLA, Justice League of America, is a group of Earth's superheroes, set up to be Earth's first line of defence against any threat to come her way. The original members of the JLA were Wonder Woman, Batman, Aquaman, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern and Superman though nowadays there are more members. The JLA happens to be a diverse mixture when it comes to its members, Wonder Woman is an Amazon princess, Martian Manhunter and Superman happen to be aliens. Their HQ in Rhode Island was later used by Young Justice, a team of youths that Superboy was a founding member of. YJ were given permission by the JLA to use the HQ after they were able to prove themselves.

Young Justice was founded by Superboy, Robin (Tim Drake) and Impulse who later took on other members such as Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark) and Arrowette. They were given their name by a reporter and the response as you would maybe expect was mixed due to the fact they were 'kids'. But YJ was important to Kon in that it gave him something to do, it gave him more interaction with people his 'age' and it's how he made some of his strongest relationships. Robin, the young apprentice of Batman, Impulse, the grandson of the Flash and Wonder Girl, daughter of Zeus.

In regards to the heroes and groups that are actually around, the reaction from the public they protect differs. Superman is seen as your typical superhero, loved by the public, out in the open and interacts unlike Batman who sticks to the shadows, he's respected by people and hated by others much like other people are. It's different case by case but it seems to be a general split where people think heroes are a good idea and are needed, to those that think they're a menace.

Time travel isn't something that is unheard of, especially to Superboy who happens to have a friend that comes from the 30th century. Some of the speedsters of Earth can reach such a speed that they can in fact travel through time and there's always some kind of technology that allows for time travelling as well.

On the subject of technology, and not that from the future, Kon's Earth clearly has the tech to clone more than just a sheep. In fact, they are capable of making clones of clones. Not only that but there's implants and limbs like those you would see on Cyborg. Most, if not all of these advances have been invented or discovered at Science and Technology Advanced Research Laboratories, or as most people know it, S.T.A.R Labs.

PERSONALITY: First of all, Kon is a clone and what most people tend to think of when they hear 'clone' is a carbon copy. However, in the case of Kon-El, this isn't the case. In fact, it's pretty much the opposite when you think of who he's the clone of, Superman, the all American superhero (that happens to be an alien but whatever, details) the swell guy you can rely on to protect the innocent and uphold the American way. Yeah, then there's Kon, who isn't exactly the guy you'd want to choose given the choice.

Kon is arrogant and egotistical, these are things you see straight off the bat. Usually in how he'll introduce himself, or just how he'll act. He's cocky and thinks he's all that which are pretty much the same thing but Kon tends to have a way to show off each different word in a whole different way. Time an time again though, this cockiness and and over estimation in what he's actually capable of, has caused trouble either to himself of the team. He's stubborn and hard headed and at times, more often than not sadly, he'll rush in. Bust heads and ask questions later. Why? Because he's S.B. It has to be said that over the course of a few months he has toned it down for a few reasons.

Let it be known, because you can be damn sure he will, that Kon-El is in fact a ladies man. He has next to no shame and will flirt with any hot looking babe around. Drop him off at the beach during summer and this ball of teenage hormones is like a five year old in a candy store. Give him x-ray specs and it's even worse.

However, despite being a flirtatious hormone fuelled boy, he is capable of having a romantic connection. Tana Moon was Kon's first serious girlfriend and even though he would mess things up, he always wanted to make things up to her. Make things better and prove that he was worth it and worth the work. When it came to Tana, Kon would have done anything, except let her go. Again showing that he can be stubborn, given that Tana tried to break it off several times for lots of different reasons. She's also the reason that he's toned down on rushing in and being as cocky. After all, losing someone so close to you tends to change how you are and act as a person, or it has in his case. He lost Tana because of his actions, because he was him. Someone who didn't think things through. Because of his past and the destruction he had caused, he was refused admittance to Tana's funeral and out of respect he didn't go, never even thinking of going and simply hiding.

Superboy is not one to listen to authority, in fact he hates most kinds of leadership when it's pressed against him. Police, school, Cadmus, it doesn't matter and Kon is more likely to fight against it than he is to follow orders, especially if it's something he doesn't agree with. Showing us that Kon will stand up for what he believes in, even if it goes against official bodies. This isn't to say that Kon is a 'fuck the police' kind of guy, just more rebellious.

Kon will help people in need and will do his best to protect people, to do good even if the people he's saving or protecting don't quite agree. Hawaii has seen quite a bit of S.B's recklessness and disregard for property, but it's all collateral damage, right? He can't be at fault for that, he save all those people. Taking blame isn't something that seems to be on his list either.

Kon struggles with his want and need to be accepted. He's a clone and he knows it, everyone knows it and if there's one thing you can do to tick him off, it's compare him to the real deal. Kon has a drive to be accepted and seen as his own person and not a carbon copy. It would be easy to say that his rash behaviour and self-image are just projections to help protect himself. Part of it is probably true.

Be a casual asshole and no one will get too close. No one will know the vulnerable side. No one will know that Kon can actually be a nice guy and a good friend. If people get too close then he can get hurt all over again or those close to him will be hurt, not to say he's stand-offish. Kon doesn't see himself the same way as the rest of the world, not completely. He doesn't think he's arrogant or cocky or loud mouthed.

Note: As Kon is being apped as a returning character, it’s important to mention that there have been subtle changes to his character as he had been at Mask of Menace for several months. While he can still be cocky, he has found himself calming down in that area of his personality. Due to events that took place in game (looking at his interactions with Lucifer and Crane) he is very touchy on certain topics and fiercely protective of those he cares about in game (if they still happen to be present.) and so done with the government.

POWER:
One: Kryptonian powers (due to absorbing yellow sunlight).
Two: Tactile Telekinesis.

Because Kon is a clone of Superman, I feel like MoM is the perfect place to allow him access to the Kryptonian powers he has access to at a later stage in life.

Strength: His strength has always been way above that of any human. Lifting things several times his own size and weight are no problem as long as he's at least partially solar charged.

Hearing: While not as developed as Superman’s, Kon is able to listen over great distances and even dull other noise down to try and locate a target via heartbeat (as long as he knows their rhythm).

Vision: Kon is capable of activating several kinds of vision.

Heat: This is where Kon can access energy and turn it into condensed heat that fires as 'lasers' from his eyes.

X-Ray: Just as it says, he's able to look at a person and change the layers he can see through. Clothes, underwear, muscle to bone, not only that but through buildings as well. However, lead is something he can't see through.

Telescopic: The best way to describe this would be the zoom function on a camera. Though I don’t think it will be that good of a range.

Speed: While not a speedster or on Superman’s level, Kon does have super human speed and can easily race against Kid Flash (Bart Allen)

Weaknesses: Kon is not invulnerable to everything and like most, does have weaknesses.

As he's part Kryptonian, this means that he has a weakness to Kryptonite as well as magic.

Due to using TTK as a buffer field around his body, he has always had a weakness against energy blasts/attacks and fire.

Red sun: While not completely Kryptonian, Kon is still affected by red suns which will drain his energy and powers.

Yellow solar energy: Again he isn't completely Kryptonian therefore he can't absorb and process as much solar energy and doing so could lead to death as his body would go into overdrive and eat itself.

These are all canon powers that Kon eventually develops into.

Kon's tactile telekinetic ability comes from an attempt at cloning Superman and his powers although they were unable to get an exact clone, the TTK was close enough tat he would have the strength etc.

His TTK serves several functions:

It acts as a barrier around his entire body which is a subconscious effort. This enables him to be able to deflect most objects that strike him, although he does have a weakness around energy attacks which can phase through his shield.

It can allow him to fly when he doesn't have his kryptonian powers.

Kon can cause objects to move as long as he is somehow in contact with them, an example being a bad guy at the other end of the room has a gun to a hostages head. Kon can break the gun apart without physically touching it, but if the bad guy were floating and holding a gun, he wouldn't be able to do anything.

It can be used to create a blast of energy from him which can knock people back or damage things due to the force he expels which he has control over.

A lot of what the TTK can do is subconscious but there are moments where Kon does have to put some concentration into it. If he overextends his use of his power then it can lead to exhaustion.

His TTK was given to him in order to mimic Superman's powers as best as possible. But once he realises he has kryptonian physiology and powers, he'll rely on it less as time goes on.

〈 CHARACTER SAMPLES 〉
COMMUNITY POST (VIDEO) SAMPLE:

[There’s background noise for a few seconds before he speaks.]

I’ve been here before. I remember this place.

[ He doesn’t sound happy, or mad. More resigned than anything. Kon takes a moment as he thinks. Last time he had been here, things were happening, they’d just saved the kidnapped imPorts from the Russians. Next thing he remembers are the memories of home are so much fresher in his mind, like he just watched a video on his life.]

So someone wanna fill me in on what I missed? I remember submarines and warships and happy reunions.

LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE:

It was strange to see a place so similar to his own home world, and yet be so different with small things here and there and the obvious glaring ones that you just couldn’t ignore if you tried. The cars were probably one of the most noticeable, but he couldn’t help thinking that the super-cycle they had back in Young Justice was superior. Sometimes he missed that thing.

His arrival to Heropa and this world had been a little jarring and he was still trying to shake that feeling off. One moment he had been standing by a fire with his friends, watching as a journal burned up. The next he was here, being told that he had been brought here and the government wanted him to align with them. A registered hero, it didn’t sit well with him, not the way it had been pitched, not with the way he had just been brought here like so many others, without being asked, without any warning and just assuming that everyone would be okay with it. But then, that seemed to be the norm with governments, or the way Kon looked at it. He’d never really been a politically inclined kind of guy.

Kon had been walking through the streets of Maurtia Falls, he’d taken to exploring as much of the cities as he could, when a noise snapped him out of his thoughts. It was already getting dark and Kon had previously been told about Maurtia Falls’ nightlife, so it wasn’t necessarily surprising to see two people further down a darkened alley way. From where he was, and what he could see, one of them seemed to be holding a gun pointed at the other person. Something about ‘I swear I’ll shoot’ with next to not conviction in the tone that he could detect. A quick look around and no one else had seemed to notice, Kon went down the alley, careful not to spook the gunman. Not long here and already he found something to do. Different from the usual bad guys, but it counted. Kon touched the wall as he got closer and reached out with his TTK, the gunman jumped and yelped as the gun suddenly became disassembled and Kon couldn’t stop the slight smile from appearing.

“Why don’t we do it like this, both of you just go home and we can all forget this happened. Or you can turn and try to rush me for interrupting something important and I take you to the nearest station.”
He really hoped that they would both just drop this and go their separate ways.

“Whatever it is can’t be worth shooting a guy over, trust me.”
